The proud founders of this dynamic world-class venue Penelope Klaphake, Cassandra, Kiel and Ronald started the construction at the end of the year 2004. Though the work was expected to be completed by September the next year, however unfortunate delays caused it to open much later than that. Nonetheless the theatre presented its first show at the Peoria Sports Complex and managed to pull together a delightful event. The first show was organized inside a tent with food from an incomplete dugout kitchen accompanied by a brilliant theatre act. Many interruptions had to be dealt with for example sounds from near-by streets and baseballs hitting the roof. But despite all that, the show was highly appreciated by all the attendees and the management was given kudos for a job well done.

Then on the third of January, Arizona Broadway Theatre moved in to its new facility and presented its second show named Brigadoon. At that point in time, the kitchen had not been completed nor was the costume and scene shop functional. The facility was not completely built and operational until the theatres fifth session named H.M.S Pinafore. It was after that that the theatre started its journey as planned by the founders long ago.

Marching ahead with full steam, The Arizona Broadway Theatre showcased numerous acts along with some amazing food. The audiences specifically complimented the warm and welcoming attitude of the employees and their efficient and friendly service. Later in the summer of 2006, the famous theatre also launched its Academy for Young Performers in the hope of propagating the performing arts and enriching the lives of the people of the surrounding area.

Over the years, the popularity of the theatre grew as more and more number of people started attending the shows. Not only did the venue gain fame amongst the audiences but it also received a number of awards for its outstanding services to the local community. ABT managed to secure 13 awards at the ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence out of a total of 24 nominations which is a commendable feat for the still nascent theatre.

With the aim of improving the lives of the community by providing them with quality entertainment, the Arizona Broadway Theatre strives to become better and better with the passage of time.
