The Ahmanson Theater is the four decades of relentless excellence in the field of live entertainment. The Theatre owned by Los Angeles Music Center is located in the middle of Grand Avenue and Hope Street in the north of the Music Center Campus. The production is a Broadway hit created by John Doyle and has won the Tony Award. The other renowned performances included Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, Smokey Joe's Cafe, August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, Frank Loesser's The Most Happy Fella and John Kander/Fred Ebb/Rupert Holmes' Curtains. Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards has been recognizing its services in cultural fabrication and has honored the theatre with over 50 awards for its numerous productions.

This season the theatre is once more coming up to mark history with its stimulating collection of plays and musicals. This September the stage will again lighten up with the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner play August: Osage County. The Play engages the audiences with its striking honesty and strong characterization. Ahmanson is also staging the musical classic Mary Poppins by the original Broadway stars Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee. This Award winning production has revisited the original writing of P.L. Travers and has combined it with the popular Disney version of Mary Poppins to create Magic. This season you can also have a flavor of unforgettable hits "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," "One Night Only," and the Oscar nominated "Listen" in the new play 'The Dreamgirls'. This is a light hearted Tale of poor girls of 60s going rich and then inherent issues following them along.
