One of the pioneers of rock and roll who changed the face of popular music, Buddy Holly, deprived the industry of his incredible musical contributions in 1959. The artist died in a plane crash.  Although he is not physically present but his music is still kept alive. His absence is deeply felt by the music industry and efforts are made to promote his extraordinary contributions to the new generations. The Buddy Holly Story is one of such efforts which showcase the life story of the singer along with his hit singles in the form of a musical.

Over 20 million people from across the globe have been honored to witness the musical. Buddy Holly only got a chance to practice his passion for music for three years. Life didn’t give him a chance to excel in this field for a number of years. Despite this, the fame Holly got during these years made him feel he had got it all. Three years were enough to turn him into an internationally acclaimed singer and a favorite of critics worldwide.

Buddy Holly Story takes a sneak peek into the life of the artist and reveals the unexposed realities of his personal life. The artist started off as a Country and Western music singer in Texas. Together with the support of a couple of friends, he began to carve out his career in music. Buddy Holly stepped into the field professionally in association with Decca Records in Nashville. Soon he signed a contract with the upcoming record producer Norman Petty which was a fortune turner for the artist.  Just within a few hours of meeting they started recording the biggest hit of Buddy Holly’s career, ‘That’ll Be The Day’. This song marked the beginning of the success story for the artist.

The musical proceeds to reach to the climax when Buddy Holly moves to New York. He gets married to a girl who happens to be a receptionist of his music publisher. This causes a 360 degree shift in his focus on music. The bond between him and Crickets which led to his success ended and he decided to pursue a solo career. Tables turn with the commencement of the tour ‘Winter Dance Party’ in the late fifties. The tour happened to be a hit with the teenage rock and roll music lovers. The weather conditions on the day of tour were not favorable. Buddy Holly broke his promise to his wife and travels by air in a bad weather along with the fellow musicians J.P. Richardson and Ritchie Valens. Unfortunately the plane crashes causing a great loss to the music industry.

The unfortunate Buddy Holly Story is taken as the death of rock and roll music by the critics and other music artists of the industry.

The musical is a dramatic portrayal of the determination, innocence charm and sense of humor of the artist. Buddy Holly could have been a shining star with a status of a living legend of the industry today, but fate unfortunately took him miles away from his passion and fans.

Buddy Holly Story is considered as a package that truly deserves to be titled, The World Most Successful Rock & Roll Musical by the entertainment industry.

The musical has made more than 5000 successful performances. It was first displayed in London and qualified to become One of the Longest Running Musicals of London.

Buddy Holly Story will showcase the top hits of the artist including ‘Not Fade Away’, ‘Oh Boy’ and ‘Raining In My Heart’ among others.
