The authors of the musical are two very talented writers, Brendan Jones and James Bock. During his career, Jones has had the opportunity of working with the producers of eminent television series, Gossip Girl and Aim High. He has also worked with actors from the hit movie, Twilight and television series, Glee. Other of James' stage credits include, Phantom of the Opera and Little Shop of Horrors. He received a nomination for the Irene Ryan Award for the latter.
Apart from the writers, whole creative team has worked hard to make this musical based on the Academy Award winning movie a hit. The set has been designed by Suzie Inglis and Douglas Irvine. There has been a conscious effort made by them to keep it as simple as possible, so that the little ones are not diverted by the extra-ordinary set and can concentrate on the story more. Moreover, to keep the audience engaged, the actors not only make use of the props available to them on the stage but also communicate with the people.
Furthermore, the actors that have assumed the roles are Billy Mack and Martin McCormick. Both of them are talented and know the art of creating distinguishable characters. Mack assumes the roles of Friar Tuck, Marion and the Sheriff while McCormick plays the roles of Robin Hood and Sheriff's wolf. Together, they keep the crowd entertained with their multi-faceted characters. The musical is so popular amongst people of all ages that Front Row commented, "The Adventures of Robin Hood is always a great hit with every crowd."
Apart from this, some of the numbers that are played during the musical include "Guide into Danger", where Robin tries to convince Bandits to help him against the Sheriff. This is followed by "Sine He Spoke", when after having her first encounter with Robin in Nottingham, Maid Marian returns to her castle. Other than that, "Rescue Me" is also played during the show. It plays when Robin and Marian have a secret meeting in the woods. Other than these tracks, there are six other songs that are a part of the show.
It is the acting and these songs which make the musical a fast-pace production, filled with laughs that are coupled with various adventures, keeping the audience engrossed.
