Teen Choice Awards is the hub for glamour as many celebrities and musical stars are present at this grand event. Teen Choice Awards became reality, when Bob Bain and Michael Burg, two Executive producers came together. Their plan was to cater to an audience that wasn't as small as the people who view Nickelodeon but were a little older. The Supervising Producer for the show is Greg Sills and the producer is Paul Flattery. These people have retained their posts since the first show in 1999.
 
The first two award ceremonies were held the Barkar Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in California. The show was then shifted to the ‘Gibson Amphitheater’ in Universal City in California. Since 2001 the show is being held there. The awards are given in almost all sections of the entertainment industry, be it television, sports, music or cinema. Even fashion is included and the event is star studded.
 
In 2010, the ceremony was held in LA and was aired a day after it was held. Katy Perry, the pop star, hosted the awards and she was helped by the cast of Glee, a hot TV show by Fox.
 
Earlier the voting used to be done through ballots. The ballots were placed in teen magazines and the audience had to purchase and tear out a ballot paper. Voting could be done online on the Fox official website as well. The year 2008 saw Teen Choice Awards official website being formed and votes were cast on the website directly. The website was quite effective as in 2009 over eighty three million votes were casted on the website.
 
The record for most Teen Choice Awards won is held by Ashton Kutcher who won 16 awards. Justin Timberlake has the record for most overall but out of the twenty one that he won, 12 were with his band NSYNC.
