It was the very first time that any Spanish singer had won a high position in the contest. This competition was a turning point in Raphael’s music career, making him one of the international stars. He started touring all across the globe, going to Latin America, Europe, Japan, Russia and the United States. His singles ranked him among one of the major stars of his genre around the globe.
