Details of Pippin and the Ticket Luck value
The story of a prince winning a ‘Best Musical Revival’ Tony Award for its brilliance has been entertaining audiences for over four decades now. Pippin the Musical is now the thirty first longest running show on Broadway and is one that is truly a classic.
Based on the book by Roger O Hirson, the lyrics of Stephen Schwartz and partly financed by Motown Records, the musical revolves around the story of a young prince who wonders about the meaning of his existence and life. Charlemagne is Pippin’s father. Both the characters are inspired from history from around the time of the early middle ages. Though historically not very precise, the story is one that is a winner with not only some really great and exciting songs and outstanding dances but other overwhelming visuals too. The acrobats, jumping in the air and through all those hoops that keep going higher and balancing on long structures promise you that Pippin tickets are more than worth it.
The musical starts in an interesting manner with an acting troupe directly speaking to the audience. This is the part where they are trying to familiarize them with the story. This is followed by Corner of the Sky that marks Pippins entrance. At this point he shows that all he wants is to know what life means.
Pippin tells his father, Charlemagne how he wants to go to war with him. His father shows how Pippin is not ready for it and does not understand the technical side of wars. Soon after, Pippin knows that being a soldier and a hero in a war scene is not what it’s all about. He does not find his answers here. This follows with him turning to his grandmother for advice. Pippin is told to enjoy life while he’s still young after which the act ends with Pippin deciding to begin a revolution against his own father, Charlemagne.
Pippin’s sly but charming stepmother marks the start of Act two where she finds out what Pippin’s plans for the king are. At this, she begins to think of ways to get rid of both the king and her stepson in order to make way for Lewis, her own son. This is what leads to Pippin’s stepmother, Fastrada informing Pippin of when his father would be alone; early prayer time in Arles. Getting the facts right, Pippin makes his way to Charlemagne not only to tell him of the evils he had committed but stabs him for them too.
Pippin now becomes the king and makes rules to eliminate war, taxes and all burdens on the poor. This is when things soon go out of hand and Pippin is forced to visit his deceased father’s body. With some regret and all hope lost, a widow who also has a small son, Catherine, arrives. Theo, Catherine’s son makes an approach to convince Pippin to speak to them and this is when he agrees to run her estate. Though for a short span of time, Pippin takes a whiff of regular, everyday life. Catherine and Pippin begin to fall in love and it is soon when Pippin realizes something. The grand finale and the suspense will all be disclosed only with Pippin tickets for the musical itself.
With great songs such as Magic to Do, Welcome Home, Glory, War is a Science, With You, Simple Joys, Morning Glow, Spread a Little Sunshine, Kind of Woman, Love Song, Extraordinary, I Guess I Miss the Man and Finale, the musical is one not to miss.
Those who have attended the show really love the fact that Pippin is not just an ordinary musical but an entire package with great songs, an interesting story, unbelievable magic and some outstanding acrobats. With every penny worth it, Pippin is a show meant for the family or your friends to have a great time experiencing together.
