The story begins with the suspicion of Sophie, living on a fine Greek island. She has always wanted to know about her father but it was her mother Donna, who never let her know anything about him. But the truth was she herself never knew who Sophie's father was. Luckily Sophie from nowhere gets hold of her mother's diary and gets to know that her mother had affairs with three men. Without telling her mother she invites all of them to her wedding in order to find out her real biological father.
The men on other hand are all different from one another. Harry Bright is a nerdy Banker, Bill Austin is a Stereotype Australian and Sam is an architect. Donna also invited two of her friends Tanya and Rosie. Knowing all of them, Sophie believes that Bill is her father, as he had an aunt named Sophia and he might have named her (Sophie) after her.
