Each year, Cirque du Soleil premieres some of the most magnificent live shows, featuring a mixture of theatre, circus, music and street arts. Cirque du Soleil – Kurios has been produced by a renowned creative team, already known for their work with other Cirque du Soleil productions. The set is designed by Stephane Roy with the music composed by Rapheal Beau. Costumes are designed by Philippe Guillotel with Martin Labrecque as the lighting designer. The production's choreographers are Susan Gaudreau and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui with Jacques Boucher as the sound designer and Eleni Uranis as the makeup designer. The breathtaking aerial acts are choreographed by Germain Guillemot and Rob Bollinger with Danny Zen as the rigging designer.
Cirque du Soleil – Kurios, known fully as Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities was also formerly known as Cirque 2014 and its story follows the tale of a journey into the cabinet of an ambitious inventor. This eccentric inventor defies the laws of space, dimension and time, reinventing everything and making the visible invisible. In this Cirque du Soleil production, perspective is transformed and the audience is transported into a world that is upside down as well as enchantingly mysterious. One of the most magical productions yet, it promises to present to the circus fans yet another memorable evening.
Cirque du Soleil – Kurios will visit several cities in North America, starting off from Canada, where it will be staged in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto, as part of the Grand Chapiteau tour. The theme of this new production is that reality is relative and follows the premise of being able to alter it at will, and the world created as a result is one full of curiosities and mysteries. Like many other Cirque du Soleil productions, this show will also see audience members transported into a different world.
Kurios – Cabinet of Curiosities brings to life fantasy, imagination and a world full of possibilities. It is the latest show by the award winning Cirque du Soleil, formed in 1984 by Gilles Ste–Croix, Guy Laliberte and Daniel Gauthier. Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec in Canada, it employs over five thousand people and stages shows that combine circus arts with street entertainment. One of the largest theatrical companies in the world, it has won numerous awards for its works.
