Those difficulties were relieved a little when Government granted them some funds later in 1983 as a part of the celebrations of discovery of Canada. The following year, with the name Le Grand Tour du Cirque du Soleil, the show turned out to be a huge commercial and critical success. With its first year of success, the show secured another government grant for the following year. With its new concept, the show emerged as a contemporary form of circus that featured the elements of theatre and absence of circus animals.
 
Presently, Cirque du Soleil runs various touring and resident shows in different parts of the world. Each one of its shows features the different circus traditions from around the globe and has its own different plot and theme. In each live show, the audience members are immersed in to the experience with the use of dramatic live music and highly talented performers.
