Details of Beyond Therapy and the Ticket Luck value
The best plays are where art imitates life. When one watches the same everyday problems of different personalities on stage we can relate to them. The play Beyond Therapy is one such play and is now coming to your city. All you have to do to watch it is to buy Beyond Therapy tickets.
The story of the play which is the brainchild of Christopher Durang, is very pleasantly engrossing. It presents complicated characters and their own unique set of idiosyncrasies. It has a little bit of something for everyone to watch. There are definitely a lot of laughs for the audience. There are a couple of tense and thrilling moments as well. But at the root of it all, there is love.
The primary characters of the play are the two residents of New York Bruce and Prudence both of whom also happen to live in the same area in Manhattan. Bruce is shown as a man who cries at every little thing. He is a bisexual who has a boy friend named Bob who happens to live with him. Yet in spite of this arrangement, Bruce still feels a void in his love life.
The female protagonist is Prudence and she could not be more different than Bruce. For starters, she is not at all attracted to crying men, as that goes against her definition of manliness. She is also looking for love in her life. The therapist she is seeing is called Stuart, who cannot keep himself from constantly hitting on her.
As if one weird therapist was not enough, the therapist Bruce is going to is weirder. Charlotte relies on Equus for all sorts of problems that plague her patients and stutters a lot. And if that was not enough, she also has the odd habit of communicating to her patients through a stuffed Snoopy doll.
Both these therapists tell their respective patients to place their ads in the personal section of the local newspaper. This leads the two main characters to meet for the first time. There are no sparks and the meeting proves to be a huge disappointment. As Prudence and Bruce report the details to their therapists, Charlotte comes up with the idea for Bruce to redo his personal ad and try again. Coincidentally, this leads to Prudence and Bruce meeting up again. Both protagonists resign themselves to fate and try to get over their former dislike for each other. When they do this, they realize that they actually start liking each other. As a final twist to this emerging love story, comes the jealous and possessive Bob who feels threatened and does not want to give up Bruce that easily.
