"Assisted Living: The Musical" is currently on its National Tour and will be running productions at the State Theatre in Bay City, MI starting May 9th, 2014. Penned by Betsy Bennett and Rick Compton and with Skip Brevis as the music director, the musical is ready to entertain the US audiences. The two have created this delightful musical that pokes fun at the elderly who are struggling to adjust as senior citizens. Assisted Living has received standing ovations from coast to coast and has been called "Wickedly Funny". The musical is about growing old and issues people face in joining the senior set. The story will also shed light on topics like internet dating and power of love. Due to the rave reviews it has received so far, the musical is much awaited by fans and sales of Assisted Living - Musical tickets have increased.

Assisted Living: The Musical highlights certain irregularities of getting old, like health issues in a humorous way and presents senior romance in a humorous way. Assisted Living includes clever humor and incredibly talented actors. Premiering at Fred's Diner in 2009, the musical was lauded for its interesting plot and presentation. Critic from San Francisco Chronicle called the musical, "A feel good show with lots of laughs". Assisted Living was then taken to other areas and witnessed sold-out run for nine months in Central Florida. The show has been performed in front of audiences at country clubs all through the Southwest Florida and has won great acclaim.

Described by a reviewer as a "gracefully aging play", Assisted Living is a touching and gentle musical. It tells the story of people living in a retirement home and the problems they face, their social life and even the scandals in the old homes. An eclectic music album makes Assisted Living all the more interesting which includes songs like, "Everything is Swell At Pelican Roost", "My Hide", "Help! I've Fallen For You" and many more. The musical also features some adult themed songs as the show is especially created for an adult audience. The cast includes the dynamic Bob Greene and Zoe Conner as Andy and Marge. They are living in a retirement facility named Pelican Roost.

The writers of the musical, Rick and Betsy have penned and created several musicals together over the last fifteen years. Rick has also served as the musical director in orchestras for many years and Betsy has been an acclaimed singer and actress. She has bagged roles in plays by Sondheim, Shakespeare, Osborne and Miller. She has become famous for her satiric and comedic characterizations. Besides working with Compton & Bennett, she has made appearances with Centerstage Productions and has performed comedic portrayals of Maria Callas, The Frito Bandito and Janis Joplin among others. Some of the most recent and memorable roles of Betsy include Gypsy's Mama Rose, Sue in All My Sons and a few others.

Rick Compton is an author, a musician and a freelance writer besides his role in Compton & Bennett. "The Essential Street Painter" was his first book that was released in 2009 for which he was highly appreciated. Rick has played synthesizer and piano in pit orchestras for a number of musicals and toured as a keyboardist to Japan with The Platters. In 1993, he founded a street painting festival Via Colori for the purpose of raising funds for major social causes. The festival has become a yearly event since then and is celebrated in seven cities nationwide. The festival includes over a hundred artists and raises more than a million dollars every year.

Betsy and Rick's collaboration is once again making headlines everywhere its being performed. Assisted Living will treat the adults to a fun-filled evening, where the senior citizens can relate to the many situations and take comfort in the fact that they are not alone in this transformation.
