US Bank Championship
U.S. Bank Championship, a regular golf tournament on the PGA Tour, is held annually in July on the suburbs of Brown Deer in Milwaukee. While US Bancorp is the main sponsor, the tournament is run by Milwaukee Golf Charities, Inc. The profit earned by the tournament is used in number of Charities in the state of Wisconsin.

For the past forty years, US bank Championship has been the home to number of Rookie and Professional players like Tiger Woods, who made his first ever appearance is any US professional golfing event on August 29, 1996 on US bank Championship, four days after winning his third consecutive U.S. Amateur title and Sam Snead a 81 times PGA tour winner. With the Championship first time televised in 1989 and the expansion in its corporate set up in 1991, US bank Championship has been a home to a number of High Caliber Golfers for the past forty years. Up till now Tournament has been played on a number of golf courses in Milwaukee. These courses include Blue Mound Golf Club, North Hills Country Club, Tripoli Country Club, North Shore Country Club, Tuckaway Country Club and Brown Deer Park Golf Course. From 1994 till present, the tournament is held at Brown Deer Park Golf Course.

With its 40th annual event held in 2007, the tournament has shown huge advancement during its history. In the year 2007 it also became the part of PGA tour's FedEx Cup. US bank Championship is scheduled five weeks earlier than the FedEx cup that is why the stakes are really high as the Golfers try as much as possible to earn the top most ranks. The road to FedEx Cup begins as the regular season kicks off in the January and lasts till the mid of August which followed by the seeding for the play offs of PGA tour. The FedEx cup champion is determined on the four-events based Play offs. US bank Championship is not only a treat for Golfing fans but also provides a huge investing opportunity to sponsors and advertisers.

The Golfing events in 1940 and 1951 and a seven year run from 1955-1961 gave birth to the professional golfing scenario in Milwaukee. The revival of the tournament was seen in 1968, as it made its come back on the tour with the name of Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO). The year the tournament became the second biggest tournament after British Open, offering total prize money of $200,000. And To help support the recently revived tournament, U.S. Open winner Lee Trevino, rejected to play in the British Open and appeared on GMO.

Tiger Woods also made his appearance in GMO earning him a total purse of $2,544 as he finished tie for the 60th spot. US banks title was sponsored in the year 2004, and in 2006 US Bank and Milwaukee Golf Charities Inc. extended the contract and announced that US bank will remain sponsor of the tournament for next 3 years as well.
