U.S. Men's Soccer has produced a number of fine players, who have got an international fame. One of such players is named Tab Ramos; he is a professional football player, and has a record of three trips to the World Cup being a part of the U.S. team.

He has also shown his professional excellence in matches at Spain, Mexico, and the United States. He has been honored to be a part of the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame. Ramos was a member of the U.S. men's soccer team at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, even before achieving all such fame and glory.

It is quite a fact that the United States was certainly not considered as a soccer playing nation, at the time of Seoul Olympics of 1988. Every soccer player in the Olympic squad, wanted to get the fame and respect from all around the world.

It seemed quite difficult, as at every place, they were supposed to standing in the last place. The U.S. team was placed in a very difficult group for the first round. There was a team of Argentina, which was one of the world powers in soccer for 70 or 80 years.

The Soviet Union team was in the same group, and they won the gold medal. Then South Korea was in the same group, and it was their home ground. It had been easier for the U.S. team, to not to think big and end up losing all three games.

But they had some other determination at the time we felt like we wanted to prove something. They had faced Argentina, for the very first time in the field. Argentina was very lucky, as it got a chance to tie up with two minutes left in the game, 1-1; it was a game totally in favor of the Americans from the first half.

They had their second match with the host South Korea, and there was a tie of 0-0 in that game. Then they had the third game against the Soviet Union.

As they were a team of very strong players, and the American team ended up losing a pretty good game, 4-2, to the team that eventually took the gold medal. Although they were eliminated at the group stage, so they could not make it into the semifinals.

But the ground proved to be a good place for showing the American team and the rest of the world about the caliber of the team. The soccer team went as a bunch of athletes with no recognition, playing against soccer stars from other countries.

According to Ramos, it's the basic philosophy to remember in sports and in life. He teaches his students in the same prospect to do the best they can. There is no such big difference between winning and losing the game, as far as anyone plays with full spirit of the sport.

Everybody wants to win, and it is an urge that keeps us all alive but it is a hard known fact that there is only one winner. So it is important for the kids of these days need to learn that everybody gets a chance to win and to lose in sports and in life too. The inner strength is always helpful in such matters according to the former player and coach.
