As a soccer player, Chris Topper played college soccer for Houston Baptist and Miami of Ohio. While a soccer player at Houston Baptist, he broke records for the most career goals against average, career shutouts and consecutive shutouts. He then went on to play pro soccer in Mexico and Houston, going on to play for the Southern Indoor Soccer League franchise, the Lubbock Lazers.
