Details of Savannah State Tigers and the Ticket Luck value
The Savannah State Tigers is an NCAA Division I basketball team. It comes under the Division’s MEAC. Horace Broadnax will be completing his ninth season as the team’s coach in 2013. The team calls the Tiger Arena their home. It is located on the Savannah State University campus.
The team was formed in 1965-66 as a Division 3 Independent. Under Leo Richardson, the team played for five seasons in the same conference. It moved to the SIAC in 1969-70 and stayed under it until the 1998-1999 season. During all these three decades the team did not give much impressive performances. It became a Division 2 Independent from 1999-2002 and then a Division 1 Independent in 2001. During the next decade it had a difficult time with its roster, team play, records and dropping average. The 2004–2005 season was the worst in the team’s history when it lost all of the twenty-eight games.
However, the good days of the Tigers started when Horace Broadnax took over as their head coach. He joined the team in 2005 and since then started working hard on every player and every aspect of the sport. It took him six years to get to a point where the team finally proved itself. In 2011-12, the team became a MEAC member and also won its first regular season title with a 14-2 conference record. The 21-10 mark of the team made the Tigers the runners up in the defense line, with a scoring margin of +5.4. Their MEAC scores showed only 58.9 points in every game. The credit was given mainly to Broadnax. He received the honor of MEAC’s Coach of the Year 2011-12 season. In the 2012-13 season, the Tigers had a score of 19-15. The team went all the way to the College Insider Tournament.
This season the Savannah State Tigers are all geared up to show some new strengths. They have trained themselves in discipline as well as in technique. Broadnax is known to have fixed the team after their mediocre performance in the last season. Five new players had been added to the team. Three of them Javaris Jenkins, Alante Fenner and Saadiq Muhammad are fresh high school grads. Two of them Terel Hall and Hikeem Champaigne got transferred to the SSU. Jenkin, Fenner and Muhmmand have great physical strengths and techniques. They have got very high average points on their profiles, based on their earlier performances. Fenner’s record of 10 points with 8 rebounds, Muhammad’s average of 11 points and 7 rebounds and Champaigne’s 10.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game all promise a great deal to Broadnax and the team this season.
The good news for the team’s fans is that all of these new players are very talented. They have been a good addition to the team and are now set to show their talents on the field. Get hold of Savannah State Tigers tickets quickly and enjoy the match.
