In the men's eight, Great Britain captured the gold medal for the first time since 1912, beating Australia by 8/10th of a second.
Rowing at the 2004 Summer Olympics took place at the Schinias Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Centre featuring 550 competitors in 14 events.
The medals were split among 22 countries, Romania topping the medal table, with women winning 3 golds and traditionally strong Germany, Great Britain and Australia picking up four medals each.
