Lazio is described as a region belonging to the central Italy. And it is bordered by quite a few places and sea. The population distribution is influenced by Rome, where a major chunk of the population is present, rating Lazio as the fourth highest density of population in the country.

As of 2006, the Italian national institute of statistics estimated that a huge number of foreign born immigrants live in Lazio, describing it as a place par excellence for people to know more of the region of Italy.

The name of the region also continues to exist in the tribal designation of the ancient population of Latins, from whom the Romans were said to have originated.

Roman myth states that the shadowy king Latinus allegedly gave his name to the region The name is most likely derived from the Latin word latus, meaning wide, expressing the idea of flat land, however another saying goes that the name may have originated from an earlier, non Indo-European name.

Latium, originally inhabited by the Latins, extended its boundaries to the territories to three existing places. And all credit to this attachment goes to the Roman conquests. This territory was called Latium Novi to differentiate it from Latium veteres, which indicated the original boundaries.

History has it that in the year 1870, French troops has abandoned Rome and then it was occupied on the 20th of September and Latium was enclosed within the Kingdom of Italy.

Nevertheless, Lazio belongs to the beautiful central region of Italy which is famous for its serene environment that altogether makes it a prettier place to fall in love with. After centuries of fighting, the place is now excluded as the problematic area which people cannot visit or reside to.
