Being played in Arizona ever since the December of 1989, the Division I-A post-season American college football bowl game that is sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is none other than the Insight Bowl. The game operated under this name and sponsorship from 1997 to 2001. However, once again the name of the game altered to Insight Bowl, by which it is till recognized till date, but the sponsorship remains the same. Several stadiums have been hosting the event in previous years, such as for the first decade, the games were played at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. As of 2000, the game moved to Bank One Ballpark, which is currently identified as Chase Field, in Phoenix. Then in 2006, the game yet again moved to another stadium - Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, while remaining in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The Sun Devil Stadium, situated on the campus of Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona, is known as the home of Arizona State football.
