The Fenway Sports Group and the Hockey East Association have announced that the Hockey east doubleheader will premiere at the Fenway Park on the 8th of January, in 2010. This is going to be the first ever college hockey event taking place at Fenway Park. The event would be commenced by a match between the women of Northeastern University and the University of New Hampshire in the evening, and would be followed by the match between the men from Boston College and Boston University. It will be the 248th meeting in the all-time series in one of the most deadly rivalries in all of sports, dating back to Feb. 6, 1918. Boston University leads the series with the Eagles, by 123-106-17. On the other hand, the Huskies and Wildcats rivalry dates back to the year 1975, and is one of the oldest in women's college history. The game at Fenway will mark the 110th meeting between the two teams.
