On the 17^th of August in 2011, the Gladiators gave an announcement in the media that they had made an affiliation with the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes as well as their American Hockey league partner named Portland Pirates. Soon after, they gave an announcement of agreeing to have an affiliation signed with Buffalo Sabres and also their American Hockey League partner the Rochester Americans.
