Details of Central Arkansas and the Ticket Luck value
The Central Arkansas athletics program is home to many renowned teams, particularly the men’s football team, and is part of the Southland Conference. As an NCAA Division I team with the football team being part of the Football Subdivision Championship, it is led by athletics director Brad Teague. The university itself is found at Conway in the state of Arkansas. The program is home to fifteen different varsity teams. Among these, the football teams play at the Estes Stadium, the basketball teams at Farris Center and the baseball teams play at the Bear Stadium. Known fondly as the bears, they continue to attract many fans to live games, as evident by the high demand of Central Arkansas tickets.
The official colors of the Central Arkansas are gray and purple. The fifteen teams of the university are home to four hundred female and male athletes. The men’s teams are known by the nickname Bears and the women’s teams are known as the Sugar Bears. Men’s teams exist for football, baseball, basketball, soccer, cross country, golf and track and field. Women’s sports are basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, golf, tennis, track & field and cross country. Before 2006, the athletics program called the Gulf South Conference Home. During their last season in the conference, they even won the All Sports Trophy of the conference, emerging as the number one athletics program amongst all the universities in the conference.
In 2006, the Central Arkansas moved to the Southland Conference with the football team joining the Division I-AA, now the Football Championship Subdivision, and the rest of the team joining Division I. The soccer teams are the exception, participating in the Missouri Valley Conference. In 2008, the football team defeated the largest number of football teams in the Southland Conference, emerging as the champion.
Before joining the NCAA, the Central Arkansas teams were part of the NAIA Division I. During this time, they won three National Football Championships and finished runner up once. They also won thirteen Arkansas Conference Championships of all fourteen championships ever held. They also made it to the national tournament twelve times during this period. Many football players made it into the NFL, a list that includes the famous Monte Coleman as well as Tom McConnaughey, Landon Trusty, Jacob Ford, Willie Davis, Dave Burnette, Tyree Davis, Curtis Burrow, Andre Collins and David Evans.
Added to the basketball team, the Central Arkansas men’s basketball team has also made it big in college basketball. One of their plays, Scottie Pippen, played in the NBA, being the fifth pick of the Seattle SuperSonics during the NBA Draft in 1987 and then traded for Olden Polynice by the Chicago Bulls. During his time in the NBA, he won six NBA Championships as a member of the Chicago Bulls in just ten years, from 1987 to 1998. He was ranked as one of the Top 50 Players of All Time in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls retiring his jersey. He also went on to play for the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trailblazers.
With a mindblowing football team and a basketball team home to NBA legends such as Scottie Pippen, their games are definitely a must see in live by booking Central Arkansas tickets.
