The 80?s was a time when the music industry saw some of the greatest music geniuses this country has ever seen. It was the era of legendary artists like ?Michael Jackson?, ?Bruce Springsteen? and ?Prince.? It was also the time when the industry had bands like ?Guns N Roses?, ?talking heads? and ?Metallica? but when you think about true Mexican and Latin American music, there is only one band that comes to your mind, Bronco. When the music world was becoming inclined towards teen pop, new wave, glam metal and when Hip hop was emerging in the industry, Bronco was trying out something different from the rest. This was their fresh take on Noterno music. Considered as the Mexican Beatles, the group saw their share of successes and failures. The group saw the utmost success in the industry but the success was short lived when the band fell apart. In 2003, the band reunited and is back with a bang. Also known as El Gigante de America, the band originated from the streets of Mexico. Bronco consisted of Jose Guadalupe Esparza as the lead vocalist, Javier Villarreal on the guitars, Ramiro Delgado as the accordion, Jose Luis Villarreal as the drummer and Aurelio Esparza as the percussionist. Together, this band of four members produced a modern style of noterno music which was meant to be a tribute to the true Latino and Mexican music. Their amalgamation of Mexican music with modern instruments like keyboard and adding a tinge of pop style made their music fun and enjoyable. The signature style of bronco?s extravagant costumes and artistic stage designs including country style backdrops, resplendent lights and detailed videos made their live performances humorous yet delightful to watch. The band?s first encounter with international fame was with their hit single ?Que no Quede Huella? (may no traces be left) from their 1989?s hit album ?A Todo Galope.? Till date, Bronco has released a whopping number of 23 albums. Releasing 23 albums is an outstanding achievement in itself. Many of their albums also earned a gold and platinum status in many countries. These men have done what many singers of our era cannot and will not be able to do. Their acting talent was showcased in the television soap opera Dos Mujeres, un Camino (two women, one road). The title track of the soap opera, sung by Bronco, was a huge hit. This song was included in their 9th album ?Pura Sangre? which earned a gold and platinum status in numerous countries like ?Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia and their own Mexico. Despite the wonderful success this band saw, they were not able to stay together as a band and in 1997, the band fell apart. Their lead vocalist Esparza announced that he wanted to start his solo career and with this news the band fell apart. But in 2003, the band decided to finish what they had started and Bronco was reunited. Selling a staggering 10 million copies of their albums, the band won best new group at Premio Lo Nuestro in 1980 and also won the Cerro De La Silla for best selling group in Northern Mexico. This is one Mexican band that has earned international fame just with the power of their enjoyable music. After a number of ups and downs, Bronco was back on the music circuit in 2003.Their music and performances are not worth missing.
