Bear Family Fest tickets invite families to Chicago Bears' home field to enjoy the live spirit of the game of football. Sponsored by Chase, the event allows the attendees to view the vigorous practice and training sessions by the Bears who in fact are pairing up with head coach Marc Trestman for the very first time.
The team of Chicago Bears is the member of the National Football League (NFL). Initially founded in Decatur, Illinois, the franchise was shifted to the city of Chicago in the year 1921. At this point in time the club was called 'Chicago Staleys'. However after George Halas acquired the legal rights to the club, he eventually renamed it as 'Chicago Bears'. Under his expert coaching, the team dominated the fields of the NFL matches during the first decade. They finished second place after Cleveland in the League's championship season of 1924.
Between 1940 and 1947, the team was led to victory by quarterback Sid Luckman in four of five Championships of the National Football League. One of the team's highlights of the era is their 73-0 win over the then favorites Washington Redskins in 1940. The phenomenal success record of Luckman on the quarterback position has not been matched till date.
The Chicago Bears produced a number of fine football players during the 60s and 70s. Some of these include Gale Sayers, Brian Piccolo and Dick Butkus. George Halas hired Mike Ditka in 1982 as the next coach for the team. The players gave a tough competition to their opponents throughout the 80s. Following the departure of Ditka from the position (coach) the players have performed under three different head coaches namely Dave Wannstedt, Dick Jauron and Lovie Smith.
Joining the Bears in 2004, Smith introduced some highly successful defensive techniques to the players. The following year the team won the North Division of the League. They continued this pattern by winning the NFC North title once again in 2006. Ever since becoming a NFL charter member in 1920, the football club has performed in more than one thousand games of the sport. They led the National Football League in over seven hundred franchise wins.
Chicago's Soldier Field Stadium has been the team's home ground since 1971. Earlier they used to play their home games at the Wrigley Field. However, following the AFL-NFL merger, the newly formed League wanted to make their teams play in large stadiums which could accommodate a crowd of about fifty thousand. Hence the Soldier Field was finalized as the new permanent home field for the Bears.
The initial logo for the team was a black bear on top of a ball. This continued until the trademark 'C' logo was introduced in 1962. The wishbone 'C' has been a constant feature of the Bear's logo for more than forty years. During early 70s, it was slightly altered by changing its color from white to orange. Thus the current logo consists of an orange colored 'C' wishbone outline in white with an orange bear inside.
The official mascot of the football team is a cartoon figure popularly known as Staley Da Bear. He is named after A.E Staley, the founder of the franchise. Debuting at the Chicago Bears Season of 2003, Staley Da Bear has since taken part in several Bear related parties and events. His entertaining antics and cheerful demeanor is a powerful source of attraction during matches of the team.
The uniform of the team too has undergone many modifications over the years. Currently it is comprised of white, navy blue and orange colors. After Nike replaced Reebok as the official supplier of Bear uniforms, it has brought about certain changes in its fabric and style. The current uniform of the team is comprised of white, orange and navy blue colors on which the numbers are printed on the shoulder padded sleeves.
