The ATP Master Series: Madrid or rather known as the 'Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open' is a tennis tournament for both male and female pro tennis players. This tournament takes place in Madrid, Spain and is amongst the few events that fall under the category of 'ATP World Tour Masters 1000' as per the regulations of the Association of Tennis Professionals tour as well as classified as a Premier Mandatory event within the Women's Tennis Association tour. As such, the ATP Master Series: Madrid is amongst the topmost tennis events in the world and is a highly watched and played event with the best in tennis competing here for various titles and for achieving a higher ranking. For tennis enthusiasts and sports enthusiasts in general, getting ATP masters Series: Madrid tickets should be utmost priority! This particular pro tennis tournament has a rich history behind it. For around decades, as of 1990 through to 2008, it was regarded as an ATP Masters Series event as far as the men's tour event was concerned. Initially, it was held in Germany in 1995 after California being a venue from 1990 to 1994. It was held in Germany, albeit at a different venue, Stuttgart, as opposed to the former venue at Essen, until 2001, a year after which it came to its present venue at Madrid. Until 2008, the event was played on hard indoor courts. However, as of  2009, and upon shifting to the new venue, the tournament was shifted to the Park Manzanares where there were clay courts as opposed to hard courts.

There have been a number of record holders in this event. For men's singles tennis, Boris Becker has both the largest number of wins, 4 of them, as well as the most consecutive wins. As far as the present venue of Madrid is concerned, both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are tied at having the most wins, 2 of them. When it comes to the men's doubles, the so-called The Woodies have the most wins, 4 of them, as well as the most consecutive wins whereas in Madrid, Bob and Mike Bryan have the most wins - 3 of them. For the women's singles,  Dinara Safina and Aravane Rezai have 1 win each - a fact that is a result of this tournament being classified by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rather late as opposed to by ATP.The ATP World Tour, of which this event is a part of, is the most phenomenal event as far as the sport of tennis is concerned. This particular tour takes place in numerous places all over the world - within the geographical boundaries of 32 countries their exist 62 different tournaments spanning 6 different continents. At present, as of the 2010 ATP World Tour, Roger Federer is considered as a legend within the ATP World Tour - having won the No. 1 title five times in 6 years. His closest rival, the one who acquired the title from him in 2008, Rafael Nadal is also one of the best tennis player around and one who has an immensely captivating rivalry with Roger Federer. The ATP World Tour is clearly at its very best - 19 out of the Top 20 tennis players, the very best within the ATP World Tour acquired, at the very least, one ATP World Tour title. Plus, there is a lot of competition between the top players - the top 10 have had a record 90 matches against each other. And, despite the strong and stable 'dominance' of the sport by the rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, there are also emerging players who are considered as serious threats to the mantle held by this duo; this includes players like Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. There also are tennis players who, relatively inexperienced, have managed to win big - an example being Juan Martin del Potro who won a Grand Slam title in the US Open tournament despite being inexperienced as compared to other players - so much so that he is set to reach the Top 4 in 2010.And it isn't the singles only that are filled with fierce competition - the doubles are hardly lacking in this area. The rivalry between the Bryan brothers and Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic is continuous. The Bryan Brothers have, as of 2010, achieved around 56 double titles. In short, a legendary event with legends in it, this tennis pro tournament is definitely the tennis event for you to grab ATP masters Series: Madrid tickets for!
