Details of Atletico De Madrid and the Ticket Luck value
As one of Spain’s most popular clubs, Atletico de Madrid holds a very special place in the country’s football folklore. The club is also known simply as Atletico Madrid. This wonderful football team has won almost every trophy domestically and in Europe to solidify its status among the country’s elite. If you are football supporter then book your Atletico de Madrid tickets and catch this legendary team in action live at the stadium.
Atletico de Madrid came into existence on 26th April, 1903. The club was not incepted as a proper separate entity rather it was designed to act as youth development arm of another of “Athletic Bilbao.” That remained the case till the year 1921 when Atletico Madrid went on its own and moved into its own stadium, “Estadio Metropolitano de Madrid.” The club played their home games at that ground for around four and a half decades before re-locating to its current home “Estadio Vicente Calderon.”
Atletico de Madrid made its mark on Spanish football for the first time by clinching the “Campeonato Regional Centro” at the end of the 1920-1921 season. The team repeated the trick on two more occasions in 1925 and 1928. The next few years didn’t go according to the script for the club and its fans but that changed as soon as 1940’s came around.
Atletico de Madrid celebrated the arrival of the decade by winning the first of its nine La Liga titles. It was a historic achievement because that triumph put them at the top of the Spanish football mountain. Atletico successfully defended its league title next season to announce its arrival among the big boys in style.
Atletico went on to clinch two more La Liga crowns in 1950 and 1951. The club’s first foray into the “European Cup” came in the 1958-1959 season. It went on to reach the semifinals which was a very impressive feat for a team that was playing in the competition for the first time. The team added to its reputation by winning the “Copa del Rey” in successive years of 1960 and 1961.
Next year saw Atletico de Madrid won its first international trophy by lifting the “Cup Winners Cup.” Atletico next won the La Liga in the year 1966 and then continued that run to capture three more league titles in 1970, 1970 and then again in 1977. Atletico had only one Copa del Rey triumph to show for in the 1980’s. The team got back to winning ways once again by winning one La Liga title and three Copa del Rey’s in the 1990’s.
Atletico suffered relegation at the turn of the century but didn’t take too long to bounce back. The club hasn’t done much domestically since its return but in Europe the team has gone on to add two “Europa League” titles and two “UEFA Super Cups” to the trophy cabinet. The club will once again be looking forward to make its mark on the sport and you can be a part of that journey by buying Atletico de Madrid tickets and being there live.
