Apart from that, Bill Dennis also accomplished the feat of wining Permatex 300 held at Daytona for three straight years. Almost two years later in 1984, Dennis then formed up Townsend Racing Products in partnership with Rick Townsend.
 
Rickey Dennis had the first vision of Arena Racing back in 1992 when he attended one of the ice hockey games. Throughout the game he constantly kept on envisioning the stock races racing around the high banked track within the rink. Hence as he moved forward with his idea, he was finally able to materialize it in 1993.
 
In its very early form, the Arena Racing USA took place on a wooden track in Richmond Coliseum and featured suspension-less fifty stock cars. However it took almost a decade for Area Racing USA to make an official debut in 2002 in Norfolk, Virginia. Ever since then Arena Racing has been constantly being held at the Richmond Coliseum every year with its events kicking off in November every year.
