The Reno Aces were originally formed as the Tucson Sidewinders back in 1998 and moved to Reno to become the Reno Aces in 2009. The Albuquerque Isotopes were formed in the year 1985. They were called the Calgary Cannons until the team moved to Albuquerque in 2003. Since then they have been playing their home games at the Isotopes Park.
Prior to becoming the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league affiliates in 2009, the Isotopes were initially affiliated with the Florida Marlins. The team enjoys a very loyal fan following in the region and attracts large numbers to the Isotopes Park each season. In 2012, the Isotopes were also ranked at the fourth spot on Forbes' list of Most Valuable Minor League Baseball franchises. Since its move to Albuquerque, the franchise has claimed three division titles.
