The Oregon Ducks, a group of sports teams, belong to the "University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, US. They are also known as the "mascots" of the university. Oregon Ducks are a member Pacific-10 conference. Under an agreement with the Walt Disney Company, their mascot is Donald Duck, the Disney character. Eugene is known as "Tracktown, USA" because of Oregon Ducks' track and field program and football team.

The Oregon Ducks first success in the NCAA Basketball championship came against Ohio State in 1939, a 46 - 33 win. The series was won by the Ducks too.

However, with the rise of 2007, the curse was broken as the Ducks made into the field with an upsetting 1 UCLA on January 6. They managed to have their best start since 1928, with a season starter 18 - 1. Their regular season ended with a record of 23 - 7 and they defeated USC, Arizona and California to win the Pac-10 tournament. The current ranking of the Ducks is 10 and 12. In 2007 NCAA tournament, the Ducks entered with 3 seeds and defeated the 14 seeded Miami of Ohio 58 - 56 on March 16th.

The Oregon Ducks programmed their first baseball game in 1876. The Ducks have provided 22 Major League players and have won 14 Pac-10 tournaments before they were lowered to just club sports in1981. In the College World Series championship of 1954, they lost games against both Arizona and Massachusetts and were eliminated from the tournament. The Oregon Ducks baseball team is the only Pac-10 member that is not at intercollegiate level.

The Oregon Ducks' Track and Field coach Bill Bowerman created a prototype rubber sole by turning an athletic shoe into a waffle iron by pouring molten rubber in it. He is the co-founder of Nike Corporation along with the University of Oregon's alumni Phil Knight. Since then, Nike has managed to maintain a close relationship with University of Oregon and their logo clothing and uniforms are all manufactured by the Nike Corporation. They also manufacture high-tech "super-clothes" for the university, such as jerseys with cooling systems. A controversy rose about Nike's labor practices in 2000. Various protests were held, led by groups of students that called themselves "The Human Right's Alliance". The University of Oregon also joined the Worker Rights Consortium but was soon rebuked by Phil Knight's letter which resulted in a $30million contribution from him for the renovation of Autzen Stadium. The note also mentioned that no more donations will be made if the university keeps its relationship with WRC. Naming it as "legal complications" the university terminated its year's membership with WRC. As a result, Phil Knight's increased the donations up to US$50million.

The Oregon Ducks' football team is highly famous for its innovative and trend-setting uniforms. In the Holiday Bowl of 2005 against University of Oklahoma, they wore various different combinations of uniforms, which were; white and yellow, white and white, yellow and yellow, yellow and green, white and green, green and green, white and black and black and black.

The Oregon Ducks had a success in 2005 mainly due to their player Kellen Clemens and with a newly spread offense. The misfortune struck the ducks when Clemens suffered from an ankle injury during their game against Arizona. During that period, the Ducks were in hunt for a BCS game and had a score 8 - 1. The Ducks won their final three games and were led into a bid to the Fiesta Bowl. The Ducks ended the regular season with a record 10 - 1. It was their best win since the Fiesta Bowl's winning team of 2001 and 2002, which was led by Joey Harrington. They were ranked as 5th in overall BCS ranking which was sufficient enough to win them a bid to a BCS Bowl. Ohio State ended at rank 4th.

Two teams with worst records made it over The Ducks as Notre Dame ended 6th in BCS. Above that, in the second year following, a team from the Pac-10 conference ended with one lost season. TV Ratings for the Ducks' BCS chances were later on strictly disapproved by "The Wall Street Journal" mentioning in an article that the Oregon Ducks are the only college football team to have drawn the highest bowl ratings. This situation led to various calls for a playoff system that would replace BCS, receiving high criticism from the college football fans. The Ducks were assigned to Holiday Bowl against Oklahoma Sooners instead of BCS. The season ended with them tied for the second-best in overall school history with a record of 10 - 2.
