Bustout Burlesque is the brain child of Rick Delaup, who is the creator and the producer of the show. In addition to the show, Delaup is also responsible for the annually held New Orleans Burlesque Festival. Before finally creating the show, Delaup did his homework regarding the Burlesque shows and researched about its history and roots for about fifteen years before finally laying foundation to the show. On several occasions, Delaup has also given speeches regarding the Burlesque history on various festivals like The Tour Guides Association of Greater New Orleans, Tales of the Cocktail, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Tease-O-Rama and the Tennessee Williams Festival. Before creating Bustout Burlesque back in 2005, Delaup led the revival production of a burlesque themed show, the Shim Sham Revue, as its creative director back in 2003. Soon after its creation in 2005, Bustout Burlesque turned out to be a major critical and commercial success when it came to Burlesque shows. The show even made its way on Travel Channel's list of Top Ten Burlesque Shows in the World. Following the great success of the show, Delaup went on to create yet another success story with his New Orleans Burlesque Festival in 2009.
