America's favorite food teacher Alton Brown is back, this time with his first ever live road trip tour, 'Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour'. The celebrated chef and television personality has entertained millions with his food skills for over two decades. Atlanta Magazine's 'Best Food Guru', Alton has won several praises and honors for his work. Apart from cooking food, Alton loves to write, act and has also worked as a cinematographer in the entertainment industry. The hilarious chef will once again fascinate the viewers as he visits several cities around the US including Louisville, Akron, Midland, Detroit, Albuquerque, Santa Rosa, San Diego, Mesa and Palm Desert. A Boy Scout, Alton was born and raised in Los Angeles. After completing his drama degree from the University of Georgia, he began working as a cinematographer. Alton worked on several notable music videos throughout this period such as musician R.E.M.'s 'The One I Love'. Dissatisfied with type of cooking shows being aired on the American television at that time, Alton decided to produce a top quality cooking show. In order to prepare for his next production, Alton went to New England Culinary Institute. He graduated from the institute in 1997 with a better understanding of food sciences and cooking.
Alton's first televised cooking show 'Good Eats' made its television debut on the Food Network in July, 1999. The show featured Alton along with guests as he explored the techniques and science behind cooking. The show also featured various segments on topics like the advantages of multipurpose and inexpensive utensils, choosing the right cooking equipments and history of different foods amongst other informative and fascinating facts. 'Good Eats' was extremely well received by the audiences. After almost eleven years, the show began airing on the Cooking Channel in 2011. The show won numerous accolades throughout its run including a 'Peabody Award' and a James Beard Foundation's 'Best TV Food Journalism Award' nomination. After fourteen seasons and over two hundred and fifty episodes, the critically acclaimed show ended in February 2012.
Alton's next production was the adaptation of Japanese cooking game show 'Iron Chef', titled 'Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters'. It aired in 2004 and featured Alton as the show's commentator as well as host. Presented by Alton, Kevin Brauch and Mark Dacasos, the show is currently in its eleventh season and has aired more than two hundred episodes on the Food Network. Alton has also created and hosted miniseries 'Feasting on Waves' and 'Feasting on Asphalt'. The master chef has also guest starred on several other TV shows such as 'Judge John Hodgeman', 'The Layover', 'MythBusters', 'Secrets of the Furious Five' and 'The Next Food Network Star'. Some of the notable books that Alton has authored include 'I'm Just Here for the Food: Version 2.0', 'I'm Just Here for More Food: Food X Mixing + Heat = Baking' and 'Alton Brown's Gear for Your Kitchen'.
Hailed as '2004's Cooking Teacher of the Year' by Bon Appetite Magazine, Alton has won numerous industry honors and accolades over the years.
