Alton worked on several notable music videos throughout this period such as musician R.E.M.’s ‘The One I Love’. The show also featured various segments on topics like the advantages of multipurpose and inexpensive utensils, choosing the right cooking equipments and history of different foods amongst other informative and fascinating facts. ‘Good Eats’ was extremely well received by the audiences. After almost eleven years, the show began airing on the Cooking Channel in 2011. The show won numerous accolades throughout its run including a ‘Peabody Award’ and a James Beard Foundation’s ‘Best TV Food Journalism Award’ nomination. After fourteen seasons and over two hundred and fifty episodes, the critically acclaimed show ended in February 2012.
Alton’s next production was the adaptation of Japanese cooking game show ‘Iron Chef’, titled ‘Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters’. It aired in 2004 and featured Alton as the show’s commentator as well as host. Presented by Alton, Kevin Brauch and Mark Dacasos, the show is currently in its eleventh season and has aired more than two hundred episodes on the Food Network.
