The Baltimore Ravens are a professional football league team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The team got its name from the a poem titled The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe, who lived and worked in Baltimore for most part of his life and was also laid to rest in the same city.

In the next few years, the Ravens stadium's name was first changed to PSI Net Stadium and then M&T Bank Stadium, which even till today is considered the official home ground of the Baltimore Ravens.

The uniforms of Baltimore Ravens have not changed much since their formation year, back in 1996. The players normally wear purple jersey at home games and white jerseys on the away games. They were the first team in NFL history to wear dark colored uniforms with black pants and purple jerseys. Several other football teams followed this trend including New Orleans Saints who turned up in all black uniforms for their home games in 2001. In 1997, the Ravens wore an all white pant combination with black and purple stripes for all of their away and home games. Throughout the 2002 season, the Ravens wore white jerseys for all of their home and preseason games. In 2004, a new uniform combination was introduced consisting of an all-black color scheme, which is worn by the team only on special occasions. In recent years, the team has switched back to black pant and white jersey combination and at times has even donned the black jersey with white pant color scheme.

The Baltimore Ravens has won several American football championships over the years, including a Super Bowl, an American Football Conference, two American Football Conference North Division, and six National Football League playoff appearances to date.
