Hailing from New Jersey, Young Rising Sons is a band that's definitely young and rising. The lineup includes four talented musicians - Andy Tongren the lead singer, Dylan Scott as the guitarist, bassist Julian Dimagiba and Steve Patrick as the drummer. Formed in 2010, all the members except for Tongren had played together since high school. They caught Tongren in a gig and were impressed by his strong vocals. Once he joined the band, their lineup was complete and the quartet got ready to make waves in the industry. In 2014 the band treated rock music fans to the single “High” and it received great reviews. They will now hit the road with another new artist, Halsey, who has announced her first headlining tour. Young Rising Sons is influenced by the legendary pop acts such as the Beatles and the Temptations. Their melodic hard rock inspiration comes from Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Green Day. The quartet has developed a captivating, contemporary hard pop sound that earned them an instant fan following. They signed a deal with Dirty Canvas Music, a production house based in New York and released the single “High”. Following its success, the band shifted to Interscope Records and came up with their self-titled EP.
Hitting the shelves in 2014, “Young Rising Sons EP” opens with the acclaimed track High. It includes bare-bone arrangement such as acoustic guitar, piano and whistling vocals. They have added their unique touch by including hand clapping and boot-stomping. Powerful chorus creates the perfect hook and makes it a well crafted number. The second track on the EP is King of the World that follows the momentum set by its predecessor. Catchy lyrics are supported by energetic acoustic guitar and heavy drumming. What makes the single stand out is the use of xylophone. With Red & Gold and Turnin, Young Rising Sons have managed to come up with simple yet brilliant sing-alongs.
In the recent past many rock bands have emerged in the music scene but Young Rising Sons has been able to shine due to their perfect mix of compositions and songwriting. They have come up with songs that artfully blend deep electro beats and bristling basslines with acrobatic vocals. Since they came out with their EP, the band has been touring extensively and has opened for numerous bands. As they continue with their live shows, Young Rising Sons is also in process of releasing their first full length album.
