The Valentine's show is a concert that will feature the beautiful Linda Eder, singing her best-known hits and romantic songs. Linda Eder has distinguished herself with her firm grasp over different genres, spanning from classic songs to pop, country and jazz. Eder began to attract attention to herself, with her first ever Broadway show. Playing the role of "Lucy" in the musical, "Jekyll & Hyde", Eder exceeded expectations and managed to earn praising reviews from critics and fans. To top it all, her Broadway performance was nominated for the prestigious Drama Desk Award. In addition to that she won the Theater World Award for Best Broadway Debut. Linda Eder was born in Arizona, after which she moved to Brainerd in Minnesota. Being exposed to music at a young age, she began to sing and practice as she was growing up. She gained experience by singing at clubs and eventually got an invitation to perform at Harrah's Casino in Atlantic City. When she was twenty six years old, she enlisted in the talent show "Star Search". It proved to be a lucky break for her as she was voted the best performer by the judges for twelve weeks. Eder emerged as the winner of the 1987 season of "Star Search" and was approached by many producers and agents. Frank Wildhorn also noticed the upcoming talent and cast her in the award winning role of "Lucy Haris".
Linda Eder released her debut album in 1991 and started her recording career. The album titled "Linda Ender", defined Eder as an artist, with a fresh take on pop and theatrical songs. Her first album was followed by a second one, "And So Much More" three years later. By the end of 2000, she had released six albums. With her vocals constantly improving she had proved her mastery of delivering emotionally resonant covers of famous songs.
Till date Linda Eder has released twelve musical recordings and fifteen solo studio albums. She has showcased her abundant vocal gifts and her exquisite acting abilities. Her latest album was released in 2011, titled "Now". Along her career she has often paired with many renowned performers; she has collaborated with the Oscar winning composer, Marvin Hamlisch. She also has performed next to Tony Award winner, Michael Feinstein and with the conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, Keith Lockhart. Her high profile company, has not only given her great exposure, but also made her quite famous.
Although Eder is regarded as a singer and actor, the concert stage has been the mainstay of her career. She has toured throughout Europe, performing in front of sold out crowds and headlining concerts. She has given memorable performances at some of the most prestigious venues. The long list includes venues such as The Town Hall, Davies Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and the Radio City Music Hall. Apart from that, Eder has been a familiar face on many PBS television concert specials. She has featured on Best of Broadway: Broadway's Leading Ladies, Clay Aiken's Tried & True, Best of Broadway: Love Songs and many more.
Linda Eder and her love for animals, led her to host the Animal Planet special, Trail Mix.The show was about singers who harbored a passion for horses. Linda interviewed many recording artists which included Mary Chapin Carpenter, Sheryl Crow, Rob Thomas, and Aerosmith's Joe Perry. Trail Mix along with her concert specials, supplemented her familiarity on television.
