In 2000, came an amazing orchestral group from the beautiful land of Switzerland. Named as UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra, it was an ensemble of some of the best local musicians.

Five years after that, the group came with another great group called UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. Here we highlight the journey and achievements of the UBS Orchestra in the field of music.

The orchestra takes its roots from Verbier Festival that has been entertaining music lovers from 1994. The innovative music festival gathers the greatest talent of classical music every year.

A landmark moment occurred in 2002 when UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra started its operation. By remaining firm on the objectives of quality, energy and commitment; the orchestral group soon made a permanent place in the hearts of music lovers.

Today, the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra shines bright as one of the most acknowledged and significant orchestral groups of the world. An impressive lineup of 100 musicians forms this orchestra. They hailed from more than thirty countries and aged from 17 to 29. The orchestra travels all over the world and performs with many international artists.

In 2005, a new addition to the already booming ensemble of UBS Orchestra was created. Tiled as UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, it contained musicians from France, USA, Venezuela, Romania, Israel, Japan, Armenia, Russia and other countries.

The Chamber orchestra can be hailed as the best of the best as it combines the cr?me of the previous group. Alumni from the symphony orchestra and other top musicians are part of this small but powerful orchestra.

Today, UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra has become the best choice for smaller venues and high level events. Comprising on selected members, the orchestral group performs some of the most classic music in live concerts. They tour different cities and countries and get acclaim from everywhere. Its current music director, G?bor Tak?cs-Nagy joined the orchestra in 2007.

The UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra made a huge impact from their very first performance. They held their first public performance in New York with none other than Renee Fleming. Everyone appreciated the perfection and quality they projected in the show.

After the initial response, UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra toured Europe with violinist Joshua Bell. Of course, their Verbier Festival performance made headlines as they performed with the likes of Emanuel Ax, Jose van Dam, Sarah Chang, Barbara Hendricks, Heinrich Schiff and Thomas Quastoff.

The Chamber Orchestra made its BBC Proms in August 2006 with Maxim Vengerov. Then performed together again at Carnegie Hall, New York in 2007. The orchestra also appeared with soloists Thomas Hampson and Joshua Bell.

Besides live shows, the UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra has outperformed everyone in recordings as well. In 2007, the ensemble embarked on a project to perform and record Mozart's complete works for violin and orchestra. Consisting of over a two year period, they accompanied Maxim Vengerov in this project for EMI Classics.

From the Napa Festival of California in 2008 to regular appearances in the Verbier Festival, from Europe to Asia, and form Japan to almost all the parts of Swiss Valley, UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra has made its mark wherever it has performed.
