The Ringers featuring Gary Novak, Jimmy Herring, Michael Landau, Wayne Krantz and Etienne Mbappe is not that old in the music world, yet they have maintained an amazing fan following from across the US. The master mind behind the success of The Ringers is Jimmy Herring, a visionary musician, who has been playing the guitar for over forty years. He studied guitar from the Guitar Institute of Technology and Berklee College of Music. Today, he specializes in genres such as jam band and jazz fusion and is often compared to the music legends such as, Charlie Parker, Jimi Hendrix, John Coltrane and Steve Morse. In early years, Jimmy Herring found two bands at different time periods; they were The Aquarium Rescue and Col Bruce Hampton. Before forming The Ringers, Jimmy played music for many bands, such as Frogwings, Jazz is Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, The Other Ones, Widespread Panic and Project Z.
Playing the guitar from the age of thirteen, Jimmy Herring is highly admired throughout the music fraternity for his unique talents and outstanding sense of music. Since the 80s, he has not just made music for himself, but also helped many fellow bands and solo artists, including Phil Lesh, Steve Gorman and Widespread Panic. Following the year 2008, Herring released a few solo albums, including Lifeboat and Subject to Change Without Notice. In 2013, he, along with a few talented musicians, formed the band called The Ringers.
They performed a few gigs across the US and enjoyed a great response by thousands of music lovers and critics.
