Led by vocalist Randy Rogers, the band is considered to be one of the most happening country groups to have emerged in the 21st century. Apart from Randy the other four members include Geoffrey Hill on the guitar, Jon Richardson on the bass, Les Lawless the drummer and Brady Black on the violin. With a rather short portfolio consisting of two live compilations and four studio records, the Randy Rogers Band has gained considerable attention of the music world with their top quality country music. Seven of the band's singles have gained top slots on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Hailing from Texas, Randy Rogers started showing his interest in country music from an early age. At six he started taking piano lessons from his grandmother and soon became a piano whiz. Some years later, he shifted his focus to guitar and learned playing the instrument. By the time he was eleven years old, Randy had already started composing his own songs and writing lyrics. He formed Randy Rogers Band after completing his studies.
Formed in 2002, Randy Rogers Band is a group of five talented and incredibly passionate country musicians. The band excels in playing the sounds of Texas music and Red Dirt, two of the most rapidly growing sub-genres of America country music. Since their formation, the band has been working with MCA Nashville and Mercury Nashville Records, two of the most prominent labels of the music industry. Among the band's associated acts include Cross Canadian Ragweed, a country trio and world-renowned artists like Wade Bowen and Radney Foster.
The band released its first compilation, "Live at Cheatham Street Warehouse," in 2002. Recorded at the Cheatham Warehouse in San Marcos, this first live album helped the band to successfully build a reputation in the Nashville music circle. For the production of their next album, "Like It Used to be," the band was signed by Downtime, an independent record label. Around the same time, the ensemble started perforating live in the suburbs of San Marcos featuring their country-rock tunes. Mainly, it was the Nutty Brown Café and the Amphitheatre of a nearby town, Dripping Springs, which hosted the band's night shows.
After two years, in the spring of 2004, Randy Rogers Band released their second studio album, "Rollercoaster." Released on Smith Music Group label, the album produced two singles which reached the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Several of the songs of this album were written by Randy Rogers and the co-producer, Radney Foster. It was an important album in the band's career as it earned them a deal with Mercury Nashville Records. The band released their next studio album, "Just a Matter of Time," in 2006.
In 2008 the band's self-titled album hit the stores. Released on Mercury Nashville Records, the first single of the album, "In My Arms Instead," was a major hit. This was followed by "Too Late for Goodbye," another hit single from their fifth studio album "Burning the Day" which was released on MCA Nashville Records in 2010. In 2012, the band released the single "One More Sad Song" which was their first Billboard Top 40 hit. "Trouble" is the band's most awaited album which is due to be released later this year.
Known for their great live performances, the band has been touring across the world since they first came into force in 2002.
