An American and a British musician collaborated to form a band and the result was The Kills. This amazing rock band was formed by Alison Mosshart who is the lead singer and the guitarist Jamie Hince. The first three albums of the band, namely, Midnight Boom, No Wow and Keep On Your Mean Side, were praised by fans and critics alike. A demo tape was released in 2001 which was well received but the artists turned down the offers from record labels, deciding to record under their own name, "VV and Hotel". Their debut release came out with the name Black Rooster EP. In London, this was released under the label of Domino Records and under Dim Mak Records in US. The Kills regards their music influences to Patti Smith, The Fall, LCD Soundsystem and PJ Harvey but the press has found the band's music quite similar to The White Stripes. International touring followed the band's debut release. The band then signed with Toe Rag Studios to record their debut album, the label under which the band The White Stripes had also recorded their debut album, Elephant. The debut album of the band came out, titled; Keep on Your Mean Side. The album was once again said to resemble The White Stripes.   
 
The next album of The Kills came out in 2005 and was titled No Wow. The new album recorded under the label of Domino Records, took a different turn on the music than the previous album. The third studio album of the band came out in 2008 and was titled, Midnight Boom. The music of the band has been featured in different TV shows and films including 90210, Gossip Girl, House, The Losers and Welcome to the Riley's which added to the fan base of the band. The most recent album of the band came out in the April of 2011 which was been worked on since 2009 and was titled, Blood Pressures. The new album was as successful as any of the previous albums of the band.
