The popular rap duo, Grouch & Eligh has finally released their new album, The Tortoise and the Crow. Apart from their joint venture, they have also released new solo albums that have gained immense popularity throughout the hip hop circuit. Grouch and Eligh entered the music industry in the early 90s. Founding the internationally acclaimed hip hop group, The Living Legends, Grouch is currently one of the prominent figures of the independent hip hop scene. His fans love his musical approach, as it is poignant and down to earth. Apart from releasing solo singles, Grouch has also collaborated on a number of songs by fellow musicians like, “A Color Map of the Sun” by Pretty Lights, “Ride the Rhythm” by Sunspot Jonz, “Sleeping Giants” by Pigeon John and “Oakland” by Lateef the Truthspeaker. In the past twenty years of his career, Grouch has released over ten solo albums, some of them being, They Don't Have This, Show You the World, Three Eyes of the Time and his 2014 release, Lighthouses.
His longtime partner, Eligh has also been on a number of joint and solo ventures in the past two decades. He cites the film, Beat Street and musician, LL Cool J's song, “I'm Bad” as some of his greatest sources of inspiration. While still in school, young Eligh showed a great interest in hip hop music and by the mid-80s, he co-founded a hip hop duo, BoogaluBadboys, alongside fellow rapper, Scarub. Soon, they met rapper, Murs and formed a trio called, 3 Melancholy Gypsys. This band was later renamed to the Living Legends when Grouch joined in as the fourth member.
To date, Eligh has released over fifteen studio albums and is currently promoting his 2014 release, Nomads. Throughout his career, he has worked with or for fellow hip hop artists like, John Cena, Freestyle Fellowship, Pigeon John and ThaTrademarc. Out of all his solo and joint productions, the hip hop dup project, The Grouch & Eligh is currently getting a lot of attention. Together, they have recently released a new album called, The Tortoise and the Snow and are embarking on a tour that will take them to various popular venues and music festivals across the world.
The Grouch & Eligh released their new album in February 2014, and are enjoying the success of their latest tracks, “Ashes to Ashes,” “Say Eligh! Say Grouch!,” “Run” and “Introcentric.” Both these talented artists are coming up with a special triple album concert tour. In this upcoming musical extravaganza the fans will not just get to see their favorite rappers, Grouch and Eligh perform live, but will also be seeing a number of special guests.
