The Louisville Waterfront Park in Louisville's downtown area is hosting one of America's most awaited annual music events, the Forecastle Festival. The municipal park is based on seventy two acres of land and was opened in 1999. Ever since 2010, the three-day festivity has been held at this landmark venue. It has presented some of the biggest acts of today's music industry. Artists who are scheduled to headline at 2014's Forecastle Festival include Jack White, Outkast and Beck. All those who are interested in becoming a part of this camping festival can purchase the Forecastle Festival tickets as they are available for sale.
The Forecastle Festival was launched as a small community event by JK McKnight in 2002, with the aim of providing equal representation to arts, music and activism. Within a short period of time, the Forecastle Festival's popularity began to grow bringing in audiences from all over America. Until 2005, the event took place at the Tyler Park, a venue located in the mid-city. Due to increasing number of attendees, the festival was shifted to the Cherokee Park in 2005, a 409 acre park situated in the east of Louisville. The following year, the Forecastle Festival began taking place at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center before holding shows at the Riverfront Plaza/Belvedere for three years. Situated right next to the Ohio River, the Riverfront Plaza offered a public place that was built on seven acres of land. It was finally in 2010 that the event made its way to the Louisville Waterfront Park, where it is celebrating its fifth season now. So grab Forecastle Festival tickets immediately to become a part of a memorable annual event.
The Forecastle Festival was added to the “Top 15 Festivals” list by Outside Magazine in 2009. Since over a decade, it has presented more than four hundred and fifty artists and bands.
