Details of The Adolescents and the Ticket Luck value
The Adolescents are a hardcore punk band made up by early members of Agent Orange and Social Distortion. Formed in 1980 in Fullerton, California, the Adolescent was often credited as one of the leading bands of the 1980s punk revival. For 28 years after its inception, the supergroup band has had many constant member changes.
They broke up and reformed twice. The Adolescents have influenced many of today?s later punk groups, including Bad Religion, Face to Face, Good Riddance, The Offspring, Pennywise, and The Vandals.
Punk rock may have its origin in the big cities but it was made for the suburbs. Too young to fully grasp the world in turmoil and the dawn of Regan, the Adolescents were more concerned with the personal politics of growing up in a place where individuality was frowned upon with which you could make your parents proud.
They were formed by Steve Soto and the original line-up was led by frontman Tony Cadena, with Steve Soto on bass, Frank Agnew on guitar, John O?Donovan on guitar and Peter Pan on drums.
Steve Soto was a founding member of Agent Orange. His song ?Bloodstains? had been getting some radio play on ?Rodney on the Roq?. Rodney Binginheimer was an LA scenester who was making a small splash around the southland by playing punk rock.
Not only was he playing songs by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, he was playing local bands too. Soto met Tony Cadena, a disenfranchised kid who was way to smart for his own good.
As Steve Soto recalls it ? Tony was the wildest kid at our shows the first person I ever saw do a stage dive, before I ever heard him sing I knew he was going to front a band?.
Rikk Agnew who had been playing around the local punk scene was the first person they asked to play guitar. Agnew turned them down but suggested his brother Frank. Steve recruited another guitarist John O?Donovan and drummer Peter Pan.
The group released the classic hardcore single ?Amoeba? on Posh Boy Records in late 1979. The single also appeared on the Rodney on the ROQ compilation, assembled by L.A. DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.
They signed with Frontier Records in January 1981 and recorded their debut album, The Adolescents. The album quickly became one of the best-selling California hardcore albums.
Shortly after this success, Rikk Agnew left the band and was replaced by Pat Smear, formerly of The Germs. In 1986 The Adolescents reunited with their original line-up and started to record their new album, Brats in Battalions.
Brats came out in August 1987. After touring and recording their then-final album Balboa Fun Zone, the Adolescents broke up in April 1989. Later for the 20th anniversary of their self-titled album, the band regrouped to tour in 2001.
Their summer 2006 tour had Joe Harrison and Matt Beld in place of the Agnews. The Adolescent released their first reunion album, O.C. Confidential, in 2005 on Finger Records. The Finger Records label is owned and run by Mel Schantz out of Orange County, California.
In March 2007, bassist Steve Soto confirmed that the group had begun writing material for their follow-up to O.C. Confidential.
The album was due for release ?by the end of that year?. According to the band?s Myspace blog, The Adolescents began recording their new album that was released in the spring of 2008.
