Tessanne Chin made herself known to the world by conquering the fifth season of the reality TV show, The Voice. Now the Jamaican diva is all set to headline the forthcoming Voice 2014 Tour. The upcoming summer tour will see Tessanne joining forces with her fellow alumni from the show. The tour is so far scheduled to make stops in thirty one North American cities. Tessanne Chin headlined her very first concert earlier this year on January 12, billed as Tessanne's Homecoming. The event celebrated her win at the Voice and featured reggae artists like Shaggy, Alaine, and Wayne Marshall. Prior to that, she also performed her first single Tumbling Down at the Rose Bowl Parade where she was accompanied by Will Champlin and Jacquie Lee. Tessanne Chin is known for her soulful voice that can venture in to various styles of singing. She is known for taking her influence from the likes of Tina Turner, Andrea Bocelli, Barbara Streisand and several more.
Before taking part in the Voice, Tessanne Chin already enjoyed considerable amount of success back in her home country. Before Chin was exposed to American audience as well as the international audience with the Voice, she already had an independently released full length album to her name. In addition to that, Chin has also had an experience of performing besides the reggae guru Jimmy Cliff, as a backing vocalist for three straight years. Chin originally started up as a member of a rock band based in Jamaica called Mile High, however, she later decided to part ways from the band and pursue her solo interests. As a solo reggae musician, Chin took the stage at events like The Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in 2006. Back in the day she also collaborated with Jamaican artists like Protoje, Third World, Kes and Shaggy. It was Shaggy who introduced Chin to an idea of participating in the Voice so that she could finally get her break as an international star, which she duly availed.
It was announced in September 2013 that Chin will be taking part in the fifth season of the Voice. After winning the hearts of all four of the judges with her debut performance at the show; she opted to have Adam Levine as her coach. Later on in the show, Chin kept on mesmerizing the viewers, audience members and the judges with her strong vocal delivery and stage presence. Her performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water shot up to the number one spot on iTunes Chart and she became the first contestant in show's history to do so. Chin also holds the distinction of being the only contestant from the show who performed at the White House in front of the president. Chin wowed President Obama and her family with her soulful rendition of the Last Dance and got the audience members swaying with her.
Singing comes natural to her, and as a live performer Tessanne Chin has been praised by the likes of Hollywood Reporter and The Star. As a recording artist, Tessanne Chin will be making her major label debut with the release of Count On My Love which will hit the stores on June 24, 2014 under Republic Records.
Just a couple of days before her big debut hit various markets; Chin will headline The Voice Summer Tour 2014 which will also feature her fellow contestants from the show. The tour will start off with a performance in San Antonio's Majestic Theatre on June 21, 2014 and will finally come to its conclusion later on August 2, 2014. Throughout the course of the tour, Tessanne Chin tickets will go on sale for the live concerts in North American cities including Baltimore, Minneapolis, Chicago and Denver.
