The American band Sugar Ray was formed in 1986. Initially the band started off as a funk metal band but along the way they added pop rock and alternative rock to their music genres. Currently, the quartet is composed of Mark McGrath, Rodney Sheppard, Justin Bivona and Jesse Bivona. The band rose to stardom in 1997 with the release of the single Fly. The song stood apart with respect to the rest of the material they had already produced. It was coupled with pop rock tunes which made it unique. This is when they transitioned to a more mainstream pop music genre. The same style was inculcated in the subsequent albums. Given the newly adopted style, Sugar Ray produced chart topping singles such as When It's Over, Every Morning and Someday.
