Details of Sting and the Ticket Luck value

Winner of sixteen Grammy Awards, singer of many great heart stinging numbers, Gordon Matthew Sumner aka Sting is perhaps the most cherished musician of the music industry. Very few people know that Sting worked as a bus conductor, laborer, and as a tax officer before becoming the music legend he is today. An old rusty stringed Spanish guitar abandoned by his uncle became the reason for his interest in music. Sting started his career by performing with Phoenix Jazzmen, Last Exit and the Newcastle Big Band. It was during one of his performances with the Phoenix Jazzmen, where he was wearing a yellow sweater with black stripes that he received the name "Sting" from the audience.

Gordon Matthew Sumner was born on Oct2, 1951 in Wallsend, England. His father Sting was a milkman. Gordon assisted him in delivering milk; no one could imagine that this sweet little boy will soon rock the world with his captivating songs and charismatic compositions. Sumner started his singing carrier with local jazz bands and soon got famous enough to join the Police band in 1977 and moved to the limelight of London city. The band released 5 massive hit albums and the immortal number "Every Breath You Take". The Police rightfully won 6 Grammy Awards. All of the band members are now working on their solo projects, however, they got together in 2007 and did a world tour.

On the fourth Amnesty International gala in September 1981, Sting did his first solo appearance at the invitation of Martin Lewis. From that day on, Sting never looked back and is on the never ending voyage of entertaining the music lovers. He also led the all-star band, which included great musicians like Eric Clapton, Midge Ure, Bob Geldof, and Phil Collins. Sting's first solo album, "Dream of the Blue Turtles", was released in 1985. It included the massive hit numbers "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Forest Around Your Heart" and "Love Is The Seventh Wave". The Album reached the Triple Platinum status within a year. Sting's first solo effort was remarkable enough to get him nominated for the Grammy Award. The same year he sung the introductory lines and did chorus for the groundbreaking song "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits.

The second album he released in 1987 went Double Platinum. The hit songs from this album included the brilliant track "Be Still My Beating Heart" which was dedicated to his deceased mother. The Platinum Album, "The Soul Cages" released in 1991 and dedicated to his late father, won him a Grammy Award later that year. The success story of Sting's songs seems never ending. He has loads of hit numbers to his credit, many of these which have topped the U.S and the U.K charts for over weeks. Bestowed with splendid musical talent and marvelous songwriting skills, Sting has been the lucky star for the industry. The multi-talented British prodigy also tried his luck pretty successfully in acting and has been casted in many TV plays and films. He is also a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Gordon Matthew Sumner has also been involved in raising funds for political and social awareness. His songs "Driven To Tear", "Feed The World" and "Do They Know Its Christmas?" depicted his sympathy, concern and anger against the world hunger. He had first encounter with a human rights cause during his performance at the Amnesty International Gala in 1981. He instantly joined Amnesty and did multiple tours and concerts to support their cause. In 1988 Gordon Matthew Sumner, under the flag of Amnesty, joined a group of chief musicians, which included Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel. This group did a world tour to celebrate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights anniversary. The same year, Sting released song "They Dance Alone" and became the voice of the women whose dear family men were "disappeared" by the Chile's Government. His contributions for the music, human rights conditions and environment pollution has made him more than a celebrity, he is a living legend with a heart of gold.
