The French baritone, Stéphane Degout, is a distinguished artist of the classical music. The internationally acclaimed French artist graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon before joining the Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Lyon. His journey to international fame started in 1999, with a successful debut as Papageno at the d'Aix-en-Provence Festival. Following this success, Stéphane Degout performed at several other prestigious operas and events. Some of his notable appearances include at the Berlin Staatsoper (Orfeo), Iphigénie en Tauride, Theater an der Wien as Così fan tutte, Orfeo, Pelléas et Mélisande and Hamlet, the Metropolitan Opera as Roméo et Juliette, Die Zauberflöte and the Opera de Paris as La Bohème.
Stéphane Degout is as renowned a concert singer as a recitalist. He has performed at several popular recitals in many cities of the world; London, Rome, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York to name a few. His recent debut at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Riccardo Muti has been a huge success. Stéphane Degout has also recorded his performances. His appearances as Werther and Così fan tutte, Pelléas et Mélisande, along with Le Comte Ory and La Bohème for Deutsche Grammophon are some of his most known recordings. In 2012, Stéphane Degout was appointed as the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, as an accolade for his significant contributions towards the enrichment of French cultural inheritance. The same year, he also became recipient to the Lyrical Artist of the Year Award at the Victoires de la Musique Classique event. In 2013, Degout was named Beste männliche Hauptrolle for his title role in Hamlet. The upcoming season will see him return to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in addition to some performances with the Theater an der Wien and Opera de Paris.

He has also performed alongside many renowned artists, including Nicole Cabell, Dame Felicity Palmer, Elizabeth Watts and Andrew Kennedy.
