The chorus originates from San Francisco in California in the United States of America. The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus is known for its commendable performances. Every year they host a subscription concert series that comprises of a spring concert that takes place at the known Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall that is also a home of the popular San Francisco Symphony, various holiday oriented concerts in the month of December, a yearly Pride Concert which is in collaboration with many other LGBT organizations in San Francisco and also a concert that showcases many small ensembles of the chorus along with a fascinating cabaret that basically features soloists. Over the last few years the chorus has successfully managed to raise about $430,000 for various organizations like STOP AIDS, AIDS Foundation, Lyon Martin Women’s Health Services, Face To Face – Sonoma County AIDS Network, Breast Cancer Fund, Santa Cruz Assistance Project, Stanislaus Community Assistance Project, American Cancer Society, AIDS Emergency Fund, the Matthew Shepard Foundation, Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center, Larkin Street Youth Services as well as Make-A-Wish.
