Samuel Hernández was born in the small town of Caguas in Puerto Rico. He initially worked as an insurance agent but decided to take upon the ways of the Lord by becoming a minister and a Christian singer. Hernandez initially released his music under his own label titled 'SH Productions'. His first album "Un Sueño Hecho Realidad" came out in 1993 and highlighted the themes of "Soledad and Warsog".

He has released a total of six albums to date. In 2000, his third album "Faltan 5 para las 12 Llegó Jesús" was released and it immediately surpassed the mark of selling more than 150,000 copies in just a few months. This production made history by remaining at the top spot on Christian radio for 20 consecutive weeks and its sales went over the roof for a whole successive year.

"Jesússiemprellega a tiempo" which came out in 2003 also achieved unprecedented success and became the top-selling Christian album of his country. One theme song from this album, "I raise my hands" was the first praise of sacred music that managed to clench the number one position in the radio.

Hernández has performed in schools, prisons, private and public agencies and even to patients who are in their last days at a hospital.
