Robert Gordon, the rock icon of America is still one of the best rock musicians at the age of sixty five. He has rocked the floor in 1960s and still does with full energy and immense charisma. His music comes in the genres: Rock and Roll, Alternative Rock and Punk Rock and Robert Gordon tickets promise the best of these genres as he is known for giving highly stimulating performances.
Robert Gordon has given his life to music. He grew up in suburbs of Washington D.C. and got his first inspiration in Rock and Roll music at the tender age of nine. He was inspired by Elvis Presley's song Heartbreak Hotel and instantly decided to have his career in Rock and Roll music. His debut album was released when he was only seventeen years old with a group Confidentials, in which he was the lead vocalist. Some of the most beautiful songs by the group such as 'Summertime' were released as late as in 2004. Gordon sang for the first time in front of an audience at the age of fifteen. This was when at a summer camp with his brother and his brother wanted him to sing for his friends. Gordon sang Jackie Wilson's Lonely Teardrops. He got a lot of appreciation and motivation to seriously start his career. During his forming years he was inspired and influenced by some of the greatest musicians such as Billy Lee Riley, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Jack Scott.
Gordon married at the age of nineteen and had two sons. He moved to New York with his family and started a clothing store. However, after a divorce in the mid-seventies, he started his music career afresh. He joined the band Tuff Darts as the lead vocalist. During one of his recordings with his band Gordon was introduced to Richard Gottehrer. Richard Gotthehrer was a record producer and recommended Gordon to work with the legendary guitarist Link Wray. He has also starred in movies. The Loveless was released in 1982. Unmade Beds was released in 1972.
The album, Robert Gordon With Link Wray was produced in 1977 as a result of this collaboration. The release of their first song together, Red Hot coincided with the tragic death of Elvis Presley. Due to similar style and voice as Presley, Gordon was considered as the only singer who could replace legendary Elvis Presley. Thus the album was aired on Radio and several articles were written and published in press related to Gordon and Wray. Thus Gordon reached new heights of fame. Gordon released his second album with Wray in 1978 named Fresh Fish Special. These albums featured some of the greatest rock singles and were very popular at that time.
Gordon released his third album in 1979, called Rock Billy Boogie. This album was not in collaboration with Wray as Chris Spedding had taken his place as lead guitarist. Together Gordon and Spedding produced some of the best music of all time. Songs like Rock Billy Boogie, It's Only Make Believe, Walk On By and The Catman appeared in the album and became some of the favorite rock songs for all time to come.
Gordon's fourth album Bad Boy was released in 1980. It was highly acclaimed and the music is still enjoyed by millions today. In 1994 the album 'All for the Love of Rock and Roll' was produced. It featured hard rock songs, like Slash, Movin' Too Slow, I Need You Girl, Goodbye Baby, Middle of the Night and Prove It. Jeff Salem, Gordon's band member in Tuff Darts worked on some of the songs along with Chris Spedding. The album was again a hit and was popular among fans.
He reunited with Chris Spedding in 2005 and toured all over Europe. In 2009 he toured with some of the finest stars all over the world. The stars performed under the gang name, 'The Gang They Couldn't Hang', and were received with a lot of enthusiasm from fans wherever they went. Ever since 2009, Gordon has made tours every year.
