Details of Ra Ra Riot and the Ticket Luck value
Ra Ra Riot is an American indie rock band hailing from Syracuse, New York. Known for blending smashing indie rock with more exquisite baroque pop, they have been active in the world of American music since 2006, entertaining many and releasing superb music via labels such as Rebel Group, Barsuk Records, V2 Records and Arts & Crafts Mexico. They have been associated with such bands as discovery and are home to musicians best seen performing live with Ra Ra Riot tickets.
Ra Ra Riot’s members today are lead vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, violinist Rebecca Zeller, guitarist Milo Bonacci and drummer Kenny Bernard. Former members of the group included John Ryan Pike, Alexandra Lawn, Cameron Walsh and Shaw Flick. Founded in 2006, they began performing in and around Syracuse, particularly at the Syracuse University and surrounding venues. They recorded a demo that year and began attracting attention with their vibrant and electric live concerts, leading to an appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon hardly half a year after their formation, making this an incredible achievement.
After the performance at this festival, they earned many smashing reviews from the likes of Spin Magazine, who dubbed them one of the ‘best young bands we’ve heard in a really long time’. In a short amount of time, they were opening up for the likes of Bow Wow Wow and Art Brut, in New York City. Following that, they toured the UK two times, performing at some of its biggest venues. Back in the US, they opened up for famous band, the Editors and then supported the Tokyo Police Club in their tour of North America, performing in the US and Canada.
Their first solo tour of the US as headliners occurred in 2007 and they followed this up with a second headlining tour in 2008. They were then invited to play at one of the most premier festivals in Europe, the Iceland Airwaves Festival held each year at Reykjavik in Iceland. They then went on to record three fabulous sessions for WOXY and then three more famous Daytrotter sessions for Rock Island’s Futureappletrees studio 1 in the state of Illinois.
Their first appearance at the famous South by Southwest festival, or SXSW as it is known, occurred in 2007, hardly a year after their founding. A tragic event also occurred during that year when the band’s first drummer, John Ryan Pike, disappeared after a concert and was found dead, believed to have drowned in the Buzzards Bay The band consoled themselves and continued playing, in his honor and to continue his legacy. They went on to be headliners at the Seaport Music Festival, held in New York City and then played again as SXSW in 2008.
By then, they had released an EP and were signed onto the major record label, V2 Records. They were then signed onto Barsuk Records through whom they released their first album, The Rhumb Line, in 2008. It was released in the US, Canada and in Europe. A music video for on of the album’s songs won the Finger Lakes Film Festival’s Best Music Video Award.
In 2010, they released a second album, titled The Orchard, an album produced with Andrew Maury with all songs except one mixed by Chris Walta of Death Cab For Cutie and one mixed by Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend. In 2011, they received Independent Music Award nominations with one of their songs, Boy, used in Honda Civic commercials and the TV show, Royal Pains. In 2013, they released their first album, titled Beta Love, right at the time that they were performing at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. This concert was broadcast live to many parts of the world through the internet. With three albums, four EPs and seven singles to their name, they are a band to catch live via Ra Ra Riot tickets.
