Purple Hatters Ball is no doubt one of the most popular events taking place in Florida this year. It will be arranged at the Spirit of Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. This year, the festival is held in tribute to Rachel Mornigstar Hoffman, and is therefore a celebration of her life. Headliners at the festival include Beats Antique, Emancipator Ensemble, The New Mastersounds, The Heavy Pets, The Nth Power, DubConscious and Space Capone. Purple Hatters Ball tickets are already on sale.
Aside from the aforementioned headliners, the event will also include Rising Appalachia, Catfish Alliance, Greenhouse Lounge, Locos Por Juana, Grandpa's Cough Medicine, Sir Charles, Applebutter Express, Vlad the Inhaler, Trial By Stone, Zak tha Blak, Ketchy Shuby, Shoes and Laces, Cherry Royale, Stillwood, SPORE and Herd of Watts.
This year, the ball will celebrate the life of Rachel Morningstar Hoffman, a graduate of the Florida State University who was murdered while acting as a police informant in a drug sting. She was killed at the young age of twenty three, during an operation to catch drug and weapons dealers. During the operation, the two suspects she was to meet changed the location and her police handlers lost track of her location. She was then executed by the two suspects she was meeting. Her courage, bravery and valour will be honored in this ball, which will benefit the Rachel Morningstar Hoffman Foundation and other charities.
Beats Antique, an electronic music band from Oakland, California, is a headliner at this ball. The group has been active since 2007 and has released music via Antique Records and CIA Records. The band has also played and collaborated with Pussy Monster, Bassnectar, Jamie Janover, Les Claypool, LYNX and Lucent Dossier Experience. The band's members today are Tommy Sidecar Cappel, David Satori and Zoe Jakes. They have risen to fame for their combination of electronic music with experimental world fusion and tribal fusion. They often record music with producer Miles Copeland.
Headlining the event will also be, David Satori, a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, began playing music at a young age and was a member of The Funnies and Aphrodesia. He is joined by professional ballet and jazz dancer Zoe Jakes and drummer Tommy Cappel. Emancipator Ensemble will also be playing live at the ball. It is the pseudonym for Doug Appling, a famous electronic music artist who tours the US regularly and hails from Portland, Oregon. He has released two albums so far. He also runs his own record label, Loci Records, and is known for music that is a fusion of etheric melodies with drum beats. His songs have received a lot of airplay, as have his music videos on the channels like MTV, especially on its program, MTV's Hive.
The New Mastersounds will also be playing live at this festival. They are a British funk and jazz fusion band from Leeds, UK. They have been active since 1999 and have released music via record labels such as Blow it Hard Records. Their members today are Eddie Roberts, Pete Shand, Simon Allen and Joe Tatton. Today, they are one of the most renowned bands in the hemisphere and have worked with many of the best known names of music industry, including Lou Donaldson, Soul Rebels Brass Band, Fred Everything, LSK, Karl Denson, James Taylor and Karl Denson of Lenny Kravitz fame.
All in all, this is an incredible celebration of music and the perfect tribute to Rachel Morningstar Hoffman and her courageous stand. For those who want to attend the ball, Purple Hatters Ball tickets are now on sale.
